Daphne was Apollo’s first love.
She was an independent-minded, young huntress.
Her father, was a great river god wished her to marry and have children, but all Daphne wanted was to explore alone in the deep woods.
One day Apollo saw her. She was enchantingly beautiful.
He started running after the nymph but she swiftly fled. As Apollo steadily closer.
Daphne knew she could never outrun him, She then saw her father’s river ahead of her.
She called to him, “Help me father, help me.” At these words her feet seemed become rooted in the earth. Bark enclosed her body, and leaves were sprouted from her arms. She had been changed into a laurel tree.
