Pairing T-Shirts With Celebrities

Whenever we see our favorite sports teams or professional athletes perform, we typically recognize them by the team jerseys and uniforms they wear. But when these players aren’t competing for a title or prize, we still go out of our way to follow their lifestyles on and off the field, especially with fashion. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean designer tuxedos, evening gowns, diamond jewelry, or expensive handbags.

As fans, we enjoy being able to dress like our favorite celebrity athletes and players in a way that allows us to represent without having to empty out our wallets. And it doesn’t get much easier than T-shirts. Like everyday citizens we see our favorite celebrity athletes out of their professional attire in order to blend into our own communities, often flaunting their success, style, and personality with what they choose to wear.

Hulk Hogan (Professional Wrestler)

Well-known in the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) community, Hulk Hogan is an all-American professional wrestler who enjoyed mainstream popularity between the 1980s and 1990s. In addition to being a WWE Hall of Famer and one of the most recognized wrestling stars throughout the world, he is also an entrepreneur, musician, and 12-time world champion.

When it comes to deciding on the most appropriate T-shirt for a man that is the longest-reigning WCW World Heavyweight Champion of all time, the term “gladiator” immediately comes to mind, such as the Spartacus T-shirt series (hopefully he won’t tear them off in traditional Hulk fashion).

Tiger Woods (Professional Golfer)

It’s no secret that the majority of athletes have superstitions, some more extreme than others. But for Tiger Woods, color has a lot to do with his performance, specifically red. For anyone who watches this professional golfer, they’ll notice that he always wears a red T-shirt during the final round of each golf tournament he plays in. And those who have been watching him for a while know that color is just one of the psychological tools he applies to his game in order to boost his advantage over the competition.

In fact, the color red has even been proven to create signals of intimidation towards his opponents. So when it comes to finding a T-shirt that is as bold and legendary as Tiger Woods himself, a fearsome Sasquatch T-shirt – which features a bright red mouth and beady red eyes – may be just the thing to keep opponents at bay.

Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier (Professional Poker Player)

When it comes to performing at their best, many professional poker players don’t typically consider how good they’re going to look. But for Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier, one of the most eccentric poker players to be seen at the tables, playing poker and fashion go hand-in-hand if you really want to get noticed. Though a bit flashy for some, rhinestone-encrusted T-shirts are what works for Grospellier’s poker image and style.

Though most poker players tend to wear what is most comfortable, Grospellier takes fashion at the table very seriously, even if it is just to get noticed. But in addition to the flair he brings to the table, Grospellier’s poker skills are just as memorable. Being the first player on PokerStars to reach the highest level of VIP statuses, which are called Supernova and Supernova Elite, the Supernova T-shirt design would be the perfect fit for the player known as ElkY.

The Rock (Professional Wrestler & Actor)

For those who follow Dwayne Johnson (AKA: The Rock) on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram, you’ve no doubt seen him proudly display his love for Roots of Fight in anything he does. Whether he’s meeting fans, spending time with other celebrities, or pumping iron, he’ll usually always be sporting his favorite Mixed Martial Artists like Gracie, Mancini, Tyson, and Ali on his T-shirts.

Widely-known as the undisputed champions of making quality boxing, MMA, and BJJ apparel, The Rock is always paying tribute to those who have inspired him to get where he is today in his own career. Known for taking the bull by the horns his entire life, the Toro T-shirt design would be very fitting.

Peyton Manning (Professional Football Player)

Like Hulk Hogan, Peyton Manning enjoys sharing his all-American pride as the quarterback for the Denver Broncos. Many would agree that his passion for football runs in the family, as his father was an NFL quarterback and his brother is the quarterback for the New York Giants. Known for dressing quite modestly off the field and even wearing a T-shirt in the pool, many would agree that Manning’s style reflects another character: Captain America — which is exactly why the Captain America shield T-shirt would be the perfect fit for this all-American football player.

Kobe Bryant (Professional Basketball Player)

Entering the NBA right out of high school, it didn’t take long to realize that Kobe Bryant had a bright future in front of him. As a 17-time All-Star, 12-time member of the All-Defensive team, and 15-time member of the All-NBA Team, there’s no doubt that Bryant has driven his passion for basketball throughout his entire career.

Today, Bryant is known to be the youngest player in the NBA to score more than 30,000 points in his basketball career, also making him the all-time leading scorer in the history of the Los Angeles Lakers. For these reasons, we can’t choose a better design than the Ninja T-shirt to represent Bryant’s ninja-like basketball skills on the court.

Making a [Fashion] Statement

Whether they’re supporting a good cause or simply want to show off how they represent what is important to them, athletes have always been able to influence fashion trends in unique ways. All we need to do is take a look back at the past to see how athletes and celebrities alike have projected their support on important issues and how they’ve helped bring awareness to these individual issues that are important to them. Then again, sometimes a T-shirt is just that — a T-shirt.
