We have chosen 2 tees from The Affair: Mysterious Island and Absinthe.

Even thou the holidays were very close the delivery took only 4 days (again, we are located in Europe), so they arrived just in time to be wrapped up as gifts under the Fancy t-shirts Christmas tree. The package was shipped from UK by air mail and arrived via regular post. The t-shirts were packaged separately in special plastic bags wrapped up together in a resistant plastic A4 envelope. Each t-shirt package was labeled with the t-shirt name, size and a few special specifications.

Besides the literature inspired t-shirts the package contained a nice letter presenting the materials: “These are 100% light weight premium cotton T-shirts and we can vouch for every stitch. The ultra-soft material is custom woven, cut and sewn in a sweatshop free factory in Portugal. The inks we use to screen print are water based and all garments are pre washed until they feel like a huggable old friend that will never shrink.”

Absinthe graphic t-shirt is inspired by Aleister Crowley’s (rambling) treatise Absinthe: The Green Goddess. It is an ice white jersey, a classic cut slim fit graphic t-shirt with a NanoSoft® screenprint.

We would describe it like a classical t-shirt with a large print. Besides the vintage style of the artwork the subtle tint of green makes the whole print very nice, interesting and intriguing.

Besides the high quality of the textile and of the print you can also notice the high attention given to details. Besides the logo being present at the neck on the inside and also on the sleeve, on the inside below the neck label you can read the t-shirt story and also a small quote from the book that inspired it.

And this is not all. Besides the many symbols that lay visible or hidden on the main front design there is another small print design on the back of the t-shirt just close to the neck. A real feast of symbols.

Mysterious Island graphic t-shirt is inspired by Jules Verne’s Mysterious Island. It is a bone (off white) jersey, a summer cut slim fit graphic t-shirt with a NanoSoft® screenprint.

Besides the quality of the textile material which has a very smooth feeling, the design is very deep and profound and this is very well sustained by the print quality. The blue-ish tint gives it even more depth and mystery. What we liked a lot about this t-shirt is the ‘summer cut’ style of it. Talking about the details inside the shirt on the back you have another artistic skull design, the ‘Terra Incognita’ term used in cartography for regions that have not been mapped or documented and the following incentive quote: “Sail forbidden seas… Land on barbarons coasts.”

For this post and review we have chosen “Wonderless” by SheViper from DesignByHumans, men’s shirt, L size.

Delivery took about 3 weeks (again, we are located in Europe) and the package was shipped from Chico CA, USA and traveled via regular post on an A4 envelope labeled as priority. The package also contained besides the t-shirt a sticker and the shipping document from FedEx (mentioning as shipping method USPS First Class International Mail).

A very nice surprise regarding the sticker was that this is not only a sticker, but also a nice discount coupon with the message “Let’s do this again – coupon code – save 5% on your next order”. very nice of you DesignByHumans.

The t-shirt material is very smooth and the very large design is really impressive. Very nice and very clear details assured by a very good printing. The black and white lion design fits very well the grey / charcoal of the textile material.

The neck label is personalized with DesignByHumans logo and symbol and besides the size and washing details you can read the following message “Bringing Humans together from Around the world creating art and design that bring life to the soul. I am Human. This is DesignByHumans.” The t-shirt is 100% cotton and it was made in Nicaragua.

A small observation: if you are from Europe and you want to buy t-shirts from DesignByHumans as a gift you may consider doing this while keeping in mind a long delivery time (in our case 3 weeks). We assure you thou the it worth waiting, you will surely impress your friends or yourself with such nice t-shirts.

We have chosen to try and wear Why so serious? designed by Dracoimagem – men’s shirt, navy, size M, and Fonte des glaces, designed by Vinsse – men’s shirt, light blue, size L, both screen print transfer.

Delivery took less than a week (we are located in Europe) and the package was shipped from Germany and traveled via regular post labeled as priority. The t-shirts were packaged separately in branded plastic bags and wrapped up in an A4 envelope.

Besides the 2 t-shirts the envelope also contained a delivery note describing the products, a laFraise sticker and a cute card containing care instructions in 3 languages (English, French and German).

The sticker had on the backside this nice presentation of the company: “this is not (just) a sticker. laFraise is Europe’s largest t-shirt design competition. Everyday, hundreds of talented designers submit their creations while thousand of members rate, praise or flame them. After a week-long struggle, only a few designs survive to finally be printed in a high-quality, 500 t-shirt limited edition. laFraise.com: We love design, we love t-shirts and stickers are okay too.”

Opening the package made us really happy to notice the quality and the vivid colors of the designs, especially on the Why so serious? one which has more colors / contrast. We really loved this design from the very first moment when we have seen it in the shop, so seeing it live and such clearly printed made us really happy. Both t-shirts designs have a cartoonish / illustrative feel and the print underlines this very very well.

The designs are printed on American Apparel t-shirts and on the neck label you can read that “Thish t-shirts was sewn by 9 people in a sweatshop-free environment in Downtown LA, where they are paid fair wages and have access to healthcare and benefits.” Besides the “made in the US” on this label you can also read the size and the care & wash instructions. So, we can easily mention that quality is a good keyword to describe both the design printing and the t-shirt / material quality.

A small observation: if you are looking for a more slim fit t-shirt we may recommend you to consider a smaller measurement that the ones you usually order or check very careful the dimensions presented on the website. The t-shirts seem to be a bit larger that what we are usually used to buy and wear.
