What made you decide to enter the Assassin’s Creed Unity Contest?
First of All, Thank you guys for supporting my entries.
Y’ I decided to join the contest of ACU? Well, first of course its developed by UBISOFT MONTREAL a well-known developer of AC being part of this contest it is a great opportunity. 2nd..Assassins Creed..WOW…who didn’t know about AC games? My Kids love this game!
Once Ive heard DBH running this contest, UBISOFT-AC-DBH WOW…So I quickly grab my Wacom pen and start working on my entry.
Tell us a little about your design process
Usually, I studied the character first, sketching and finding the right compositions. I preferred not to look on the other AC style guide or references so I can keep on working and established my own style.
Everyone knows my style so I still do the same progress but this time I didn’t use the ArtRage only PSD because I was trying to do something different. Once Im satisfied with my layout/drawings. I picked the right PSD brushes and finding the source of light so I know where to drop the effects and other elements like watercolours, splatters, drips etc.
I always use “TRANSFORM” to distort some of the elements to give some movement or actions to my entry. I don’t like my entry looks like stiff or looks boring. I put another elements like flying Doves to show the environment and it gives depth to the subject.
Lastly, I play around the color balance and elements to finalize the layout.

LEAP OF FAITH T-shirt Design

An early favorite and one of the first submissions to the contest, Fourscore’s Leap of Faith is a colorful rendition of a classic Assassin’s Creed ability to leap from a building with an eagle soaring high above. In perfect form, Arno leaps as an eagle made of pure smoke floats above him like a set of wings.

What made you decide to enter the Assassin’s Creed Unity Contest?
I acually really like playing the games especially Assassin’s Creed. After finishing Black Flag, I was eager to wait for the continuation of the game and then … TA-DA … Ubisoft announces AC unity and I was very excited. After that I saw the news about the contest with DBH when I was updating my collective store and then WOW … DBH and Ubisoft is holding a AC unity contest, it’s like I got slapped in the face twice! I didn’t say much and starting looking for ideas to participate in this contest and do the best I can.
Tell us a little about your design process
I started looking for ideas in the game and took inspiration from a feature in the game itself. Leaps that are done by all the characters in the game and the leap was called “LEAP OF FAITH.” I decided to use that idea and combine it with a new character in the AC unity, and I started to draw the character in the jump position, added smoke in the form of an eagle above a character as a symbol he’s been doing synchronization. In this process I used Adobe Photoshop and a Wacom Intuos pen & touch.

PLACE IGNITE REVOLUTION

A newcomer to Design By Humans, TincekMarincek exploded onto the scene with a stunning design depicting Arno in the midst of the French Revolution. Igniting a revolution has never been easy work. Set against the background of 18th century Paris during the French Revolution, Arno searches a city in flames for his target.

What made you decide to enter the Assassin’s Creed Unity Contest?
I decided to enter this contest as soon as I saw it. Since I was a kid I was a big fan of Ubisoft and nowadays I’m a big fan of Assassin’s Creed and so is my twin sister, so I simply couldn’t resist entering the contest. A chance to draw something for the upcoming AC Unity game was too tempting.
Tell us a little about your design process
As soon as I heard of the contest I started to make various sketches. This took me few days till I came to the concept which I finalized. I decided to capture Arno Dorian in the fire caused by the rage of the people and to expose his brand new phantom blade and gun which were something unique and different in Unity.
The sketch was done roughly and later I colored it and added all the details. I set my title to “Ignite Revolution” so in the middle of progress I decided to include fire. I wanted ensure Arno would become part of the background and the painting as a whole, so I included fire in the part of his jacket also. And after 18.5 hours of drawing he was finally finished.

Gloopz takes second place with his classic illustration of Arno perched atop the ACU crest above a Parisian crowd. Perched above the city the Assassin watches his target through crowded streets. Armed with a sword and pistol he’s prepared for any situation or any foe.

gloopz Interview

What made you decide to enter the Assassin’s Creed Unity Contest?
Having enjoyed playing a few of the Assassins Creed games and being a huge fan of Ubisoft titles in general, I felt inspired and drawn ( no pun intended! ) to this contest.
Tell us a little about your design process
Before I even pick up a pencil it’s really important that I am totally convinced the direction I have chosen will work on a t-shirt. I thought it would look cool to have Arno perched on top of the AC logo in a statuesque calm before the storm type of pose which would contrast well with all the movement and craziness of the Revolution below.
You can see from my progress images I tend to experiment and change the Illustration a lot. this approach gives me options to explore different colors, poses etc and is typical of the way I work. I scanned in a rough sketch and built up layers of tone and color much the same way as a traditional painting using Photoshop and Painter.
